git-lfs

In addition to the unit tests ran by autodep8 (*_test.go), git-lfs also ships integration tests in t/. See also t/README.md. You need to install your new git-lfs system-wide, and it will also download a few dependencies:

# fix-up t-path.sh
make test-commands
cp -a /usr/bin/git-lfs ../bin/

# use a specific, cleaned-up directory instead of /tmp;
# avoid issues when running tests multiple times
export GIT_LFS_TEST_DIR=/tmp/git-lfs-t

# all integation tests:
make test
# individual test file:
make t-checkout.sh

Note: autopkgtest unit testing is broken for bookworm, and fixed later with this commit. Not backporting this as it modifies the list of files in the -dev package, and this is mitigated by running unit tests during the build.

Testing with Salsa

Salsa supports Git LFS, see https://salsa.debian.org/help/topics/git/lfs/_index.md, for instance:
